I had time (and baby daughter the patience) To dig over the 3rd raised bed, planted the butternut squash seed (from a Tesco squash) and a scattering of carrot seed even though the soil is not really up to it i will have to take some compost from Our Home garden to make sure the soil doesn't harden too quickly.
the other side (148) has a lady with a teenager who happens to have Down syndrome and she has planted her wildlife section with foxglove and a few insect attracting flowers, she and I have swapped herbs for yellow squash last year. Anyway back to the now firmly positioned cold frame... I have tied it down after sticking 4 poles at each corner and using twine to commit allotmenteer's bondage it hopefully won't be able to blow away again! Thank you Girl Guides movement for my 3-4 years of knot knowledge :). The evening sun gave me a chance to admire the tenacity of the old shack I have the pleasure of using, clearly built by perhaps one of the carpenters on the coach work part of Wolverton Railworks, poor thing is starting to break apart so perhaps next year we will replace it, seems a shame to see it go!
